Flying foxes
Battambangis one of the cities that most impacted us on our way through Cambodia, among other things because we came from a place as touristy as Siem Reap and we were pleasantly surprised Little crowded place.
There are many things to see and what less than two or three days in the city to be able to savor a bit of this beautiful locality, border with Thailand.
One of the most unlikely attractions and impressive that can be seen in Battambang, is a tree, where every day you can see hundreds of huge bats (flying foxes) hanging from their branches.
We had already had the opportunity to observe these animals in Balibut not so many together.
The Flying Fox is a type of bat, which, unlike the best known, has daytime activity.
With a much larger than normal batsthis impressive animal eats fruit and it is a serious problem for many peasants, who see how their crops are destroyed.
They are not aggressive at all although like all animals in wild statedefends itself as soon as it feels cornered , so we should enjoy them from afar.
Seeing these huge animals up close is one of the many activities offered by the surroundings of Battambang.
To get to the bat tree you just have to ask a taxi driver or in the place where we stay.
