Alum and Rose Water
Alum, traditionally used by Asian women to inhibit hair growth, has been shown to work wonders in inhibiting hair growth. It can also be used as a post-waxing product as it cools the skin.
What you need:
- 1/2 teaspoon of alum powder
- 2 to 3 tablespoons of rose water
- A few drops of sesame oil or olive oil
Instructions:
- Add rose water to alum powder and make a paste.
- Get a cotton ball and dip it in the mixture.
- Apply the paste to areas with unwanted hair.
- Allow it to dry. Follow it up with another application of the mixture.
- Repeat this dry and apply procedure 5 to 6 times. If you have sensitive skin, 3 to 4 times is sufficient.
- Rinse.
- Moisturize the area with sesame oil or olive oil.
You should do this at least once a week, ideally three days a week. Alum powder is easily found in the market. If you can’t get it in powder form, grind the alum pieces.
Caution: This may cause a stinging sensation. Alum can cause irritation in the skin and mucous membranes.
