A Great Dane over seven feet long could be the world’s tallest dog. George, weighing over 50kg, is hoping to be recorded in Guinness World Records, as the previous title winner died of cancer in August, the Daily Mail reports.
Its English owners, David and Christine Nasser, are watching to see if their four-year-old pet can be taller than the other dog.
“It’s very, very special,” says David, who also assures that the canine giant consumes 50 kilos of food a month and sleeps only in his own “queen size” bed.
David and Christine have had George since he was seven weeks old, but they didn’t expect him to grow that big.
Dr William Wallace of the Buena Pet Clinic in Tucson, who witnessed the documentation required for the Guinness record, said: “In my 45 years of experience working with giant breed dogs, George is without a doubt the dog taller than I’ve ever seen.”
This dog reminds me of the Cliford cartoon, have you ever seen it?
