Pen and ink stains can find their way onto clothing, walls, and floors, causing frustration and annoyance. Ink stains are notorious for being some of the most stubborn stains to remove. When ink stains appear, it can feel like a disaster for many homemakers. However, there is no need to worry. In this article, we will discuss various natural methods you can use to eliminate ink stains effectively.

How to Remove Pen and Ink Stains?

Removing pen and ink stains can be quite challenging. People often try countless methods to remove these stains. If you don’t know the secret, removing ink stains can become a daunting task. Let’s explore how to easily remove pen and ink stains together.

Soap and Detergent

Soap and detergent can be used to remove ink stains. With this method, you can quickly get rid of pen and ink stains. If ink stains your clothing, you need to act immediately. The faster you address the ink stain, the better the result will be. Because removing a dried ink stain can be a tough process. First, rinse the stain with cold water to let the ink flow out. Then use warm water, soap, and detergent to clean the remaining ink thoroughly. Make sure to move your cleaning cloth in a circular motion. If you rub vertically or horizontally, you may cause the stain to spread, making it even more difficult to remove.

Acetone

Acetone is commonly used to remove nail polish, but its powerful composition can also be used to remove stubborn stains like ink. To remove an ink stain with acetone, first, soak a cotton ball in acetone. Then, start wiping the ink-stained area with the acetone-soaked cotton. Finally, rinse the area with warm water. If a faint ink stain remains, you can easily clean it with soap or detergent. However, it is essential to test the area before using acetone. Apply a small amount of acetone to a tiny area. If no color bleeding occurs, you can safely use acetone on the affected area. If acetone lightens the color, you must find another method to remove the ink stain.

Lemon Juice

The acidic nature of lemon juice can easily be used to clean tough stains like ink. Pour some lemon juice on the stained area. If you want a faster result, sprinkle some baking soda on the lemon juice. Wait for about 10 minutes. The chemicals in lemon juice and baking soda will break the bond between the ink and the fabric, making it easier to remove the stain with a damp cloth.

Hair Spray

This method may seem strange to some, but the ingredients in hair spray can be quite effective in removing tough stains like ink. This technique is especially useful for ink stains on upholstery. However, it is crucial to use this method immediately after the ink stain appears. Spray some hair spray on the stained area. After waiting for a while, gently rub the ink stain with a damp cloth in circular motions. This will easily remove the ink stain. If the stain persists, repeat the process
