The smallest snowman in the world… measures 0.01 millimeters

Scientists at London’s National Physical Laboratory have created the world’s smallest snowman… although it’s not made of snow but tiny pieces of tin. It measures only 0.01 millimeters

The mouth and eyes are made with ion beams. The nose measures 0.001 millimeters. The creator of the little doll is the British David Cox who works at the National Physical Laboratory in London.

To create it he used instruments you normally use to manipulate nanoparticles. The scientists have posted a video on their website explaining the details of the curious work.

Can you imagine the great patience with which he has created this tiny doll, what despair, what’s more, the work cannot even be appreciated with the naked eye… it’s curious… but how will this achievement help? 😀
