The beautiful churches and hermitages of Torrelobatón

In Torrelobatón you will also find examples of religious architecture of great importance, such as the church of Santa María. This is a 15th-century Mudejar-style temple, which was renovated in the classical style in the 18th century.

Inside, two impressive discharge arches stand out that serve as support for the entire factory, but also as a division of its three ships. In addition, on the main altar there is a beautiful altarpiece from the 16th century, from the Berruguete school.

Other of the two temples that are located in Torrelobatón can only be seen from the outside, since the Temple of Santiago is currently privately owned.

Meanwhile, the church of San Pedro is semi-ruined. Furthermore, we can find a small hermitage dedicated to Holy Christ of Sorrows dating from the fifteenth century.
