Why do mosquitoes bite some people more than others?

MosquitoCould it be because they have sweet blood, as many say? According to popular wisdom, those who have sweet blood are chased by mosquitoes, but what is the truth?

According to a team of scientists from the British Rothamsted Research, mosquitoes do not intuit sweetness, they smell it. The blame, they say, is body odor.

James Logan, one of these researchers, is now collecting scents – volunteers spend two hours in an aluminum sleeping bag – to identify the chemical compounds that drive mosquitoes crazy. He is currently working on finding the right repellent.
